Washington Post's Forced Out story

Hey all, I know this doesn't totally relate to media literacy, but I wanted to share the multi-issue story the Washington Post is running about Southeast DC's gentrification - by landlords who force tenants out by refusing to do repairs to the property so that later they can convert the buildings into condos for yuppies to live in. The Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, which is supposed to check the conditions of the buildings, has been overlooking these shoddy conditions also.

As a former, long-term resident of the DC area (my parents still live there) these stories are, quite frankly, shocking. I don't think anyone I know had a clue things were this bad.

In terms of media literacy, I guess this would be a good example of thorough investigative reporting - a dying breed today.
